Luang Prabang Trek 3Days

Luang Prabang - Muang Pac Ou - Ban Mok Chong - Ban Houei Kok - Luang Prabang
Laos is a country where visitors can really escape from the stress of modern life and step into the tranquility of a world dominated by Buddhism. One of the highlights of Laos is the former royal capital of Luang Prabang in the northern mountains. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there is little traffic on the streets and monks in saffron robes carrying black umbrellas to shade themselves are a familiar sight. The following trek options provide the opportunity to discover charming temples, friendly minority tribes and fertile valleys. The only difficulty will be choosing which route!

Day 1: Luang Prabang - Muang Pac Ou
Drive to Ban Hadkhor to commence our trek uphill to Ban Houei Khor, where the Khmu tribe inhabits. After lunch we continue our trek to Ban Phapheung visiting local communities along the way before reaching Ban Mok Chong where we stay overnight with the H’mong tribe. (L, D)

Day 2: Ban Mok Chong - Ban Houei Kok
Today we will trek to Ban Nasawang, here the landscape is lush and fertile and the local communities are curious and friendly. After lunch we continue trekking to Ban Houeikok where we stay overnight in the Khmu village. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Ban Houei Kok - Luang Prabang
After breakfast, we commence trekking downhill to a spectacular waterfall, Ban Houei Kha, We then meet the bus and return to Luang Prabang. (B)

What to take:
You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage; therefore it is in your own interest to pack as lightly as possible. We suggest a medium sized backpack for the treks with enough essentials for two nights away. Suitcases are not suitable for this trip. We also recommend strong walking shoes/boots for the trek, sandals and a pair of loose fitting comfortable long pants for the evenings. Video cameras in the minority villages are available to use one in these areas, but always asking first before making photos.

Joining instructions:
You will be collected from your hotel in Luang Prabang and dropped back there at the end of the tour. Pick up time will be advised on confirmation of booking.
