Powerful storm to enter sea off Vietnam

A major storm is forecast to cross the Philippines into the East Sea Sunday, Vietnam’s Southern Hydrometeorology Station warned.

Storm Bolaven, the 23rd this year, lay centered in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, the office said Thursday.

With cold fronts intensifying in northern Vietnam, the storm’s direction and intensity were however difficult to predict, it said.
